Cross with grapevine

I based this design on a pattern I saw on a Roman stole. I modified it to extenuate the grapes and vine leaf wrapping around the cross, primarily because big bold designs work effectively with goldwork embroidery. But also to connect the idea that, God, who is truly present in the Holy Eucharist under the species of bread and wine, is intimately connected with the Holy Cross that each of us must carry.

I pray and meditate while I am working and I enjoy being able to combine my creative artistic side with my spirituality and prayer life.
